Pearl / Dimmesdale

Pearl / Dimmesdale – a reversible linocut.

This print can be displayed either side up. It is inspired by the novel “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne. When displayed mountain side up, it is “Pearl” like Hester Prynne’s daughter. She represents wild and untamed nature. When displayed city side up, it is “Dimmesdale” after the Puritan minister. He represents order and man’s dominion over nature.
I made a run of ten for this print. If you would like to purchase one, buy it here.
