I pressed these linocut prints in 2022 as part of my German Fairy Tale series. In the story, a peasant ate a piece of the White Snake and gained the ability to talk with animals. Because he could understand animals, he did favors for animals in distress, who promised to repay him. He found a princess that charged him with impossible tasks with success leading to marriage and failure, to death. For each task, the animals he assisted helped him back, and he married the princess and eventually became king.
The animals he helped are in the print: fish, ants, and ravens. The print is green ink on white paper and it is 24 inches tall by 12 inches wide.
